My Super Surfers in Devon!

This summer, we spent a glorious couple of weeks in Devon and Cornwall, exploring the moorlands and valleys of Dartmoor National Park and lots of stunning beaches along Britain's beautiful south-west coast line. While we were there, I booked surf lessons for my children at Discovery Surf School in Bigbury-On-Sea. I knew they'd love it, but didn't anticipate just how addicted they'd be from the very first day!

It was an absolute joy to watch them to catch their first waves and glide to the shore, and I was deeply heartened to see them enjoying an activity that's so beneficial for their body and mind. With its blend of physical exertion, mental engagement and spiritual connection to the ocean, surfing offers a really unique and holistic experience.

I also loved how Oscar, who loves his shoulder length, blonde hair, found himself amongst other young surfers who were also sporting long hair, including his passionate but delightfully laid-back instructor, the wonderful Gwill. He really found his people! Meanwhile, I happily whiled away hours on the beach, eating delicious plant-based snacks from the café and taking photos of my water babies!

We're now determined to visit more places where the kids can practise their new found skills and keep joyfully active in the waves!
